Try our favourite flavour tips for each Dainty rice variety

BASMATI RICE: Add fresh lime zest and a dab of butter to the cooked Basmati rice, delicious. Cook the basmati rice in water containing 1 cinnamon stick, 6 whole cloves and 2 garlic cloves for an aromatic taste.

JASMINE RICE: Try substituting the cooking water for coconut milk or coconut water.

Add a crushed lemongrass stalk to your cooking liquid.

BROWN RICE: Toasting brown rice grains in a little butter or olive oil before adding water brings out their flavour and adds a fantastic nutty note in the finished dish.

TIME-WISE BROWN RICE: Try our Time-Wise in a healthy brown rice poke bowl. Combine with shrimp or fish of your choice, leafy greens, avocado, edamame, soy sauce, and sesame oil.

BROWN BASMATI RICEBrown Basmati can be substituted for any white basmati or regular brown rice recipe. Our Brown Basmati is great for delicious gluten-free pie or quiche crusts! Simply mix together 2 cups (500ml) of cooked brown basmati rice with 1 egg, until all the rice is coated. Press the mixture to line the base and edges of your dish, and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.

ROYAL RICEAdd some herbs of your choice such as a few sprigs of rosemary or sage, to the cooking water for a flavourful side dish. Our Dainty Royal rice is a classic long grain, and can also be used as a substitute for just about any rice dish.

CONDITIONED RICEBlend some Greek yogurt or crème fraiche together with basil, arugula, spinach and a glove of garlic, then mix together with chopped snap peas and our chilled conditioned rice for the perfect green rice salad! Conditioned (parboiled) is the ideal rice for soups and stews. This rice is extremely versatile as it will not stick.

LONG GRAIN & WILD RICEWild rice and salmon are a match made in heaven, and make for even better leftovers, chop leftover cooked salmon into small pieces and mix together with chopped asparagus, sliced green onions, and our Long & Wild rice for a healthy and delicious lunch.

DAINTY SHORT RICE:  Dainty Short is ideal for rice pudding which can be tailored to anyone’s sweet tooth, whether it be complimented with berries, citrus, or chocolate. As a super simple go-to, just add cinnamon or nutmeg for a delicious dessert, or why not make it an ultimate Canadian rice pudding by adding maple syrup. Add fresh peach or mango slices to your rice pudding, or simply sprinkle passionfruit seeds on top for an exotic dessert, breakfast or pre-workout energizer!

SUSHI RICESimply add a little rice vinegar, toasted sesame seeds and nori flakes to this glorious sticky rice. This new addition to the Dainty collection can be enjoyed as a side dish or simply on its own Dissolve a tablespoon of miso in the cooking liquid to flavour the rice.
