Cook Rice like Pasta

For this technique, any large pot can be used.

  1. Bring 10 or more cups of water to the boil and sprinkle the rice in. Stir the rice occasionally to prevent sticking.
  2. Like pasta, taste-test for doneness.
  3. Once cooked (approximately 8-10 minutes), immediately and thoroughly drain the rice in a sieve and rinsed with a little tepid water to stop it cooking further.
  4. Lower-amylose rice’s such as sushi or jasmine, are not recommended to be cooked via this method.
